Domain investment advice for new investors

If you are looking for a place to put your money and have heard that “keyword” domains are the way to go then caution…you are about to enter the ‘no win zone!’

Anything that you read that is older than yesterday is too old to follow because the business of investing in domain names changes daily.

As you peruse the blogs of some of the early domain pioneers you will read about buying keyword domains as the only way to make money. But that was yesterday.

Today is a new day and many of those same investors who are sitting on thousands of keyword domains are realizing that they are now worthless because they don’t have the inventory to be sold on a domain like fatfreecandies.com or glutenfreechocolates.com or any other product domains where they would either have the inventory to deliver or a drop shipping system in place.

For many years similar domains sat “parked” and made a lot of money as visitors looking for said products were led on a wild goose chase as they clicked to and fro trying to buy what they were looking for only to get frustrated and return to the candy store in the mall the next day.

If you don’t have the means to deliver a product then avoid investing in descriptive keyword domains that are now being unloaded for $49, $69 or as in the case of Epik.com $250, because the game has changed.

Consider how you shop and then ask yourself if you get more excited buying from glutenfreechocolate.com or would you be more intrigued by a site called Chocaroo.com.
